We saw One Republic with Fitz and the Tantrums. The show was good and the big screen offered a great view once it got a bit dark. It was a great time and the tickets were cheap. We had General Admission Lawn tickets. We brought our low profile camp chairs and a blanket - didn't feel cramped at all. Absolutely beautiful venue and surroundings. Highly recommended!
Security is good without bring oppressive. Staff is friendly.
The lawn became overcrowded. The venue was selling tickets up to the last hour to fill up to capacity. It was crowded all the way back to the entrance. Also, people were allowed to line up at the fence past the seats . The crowd packed the whole area up to the lawn. People continued to pack until the crowd encroached on the people that were sitting . I felt it was an unsafe ,uncontrolled environment. There was no security visible , and they couldn't get anywhere had there been a problem or an emergency. In this day and age ,I don't think it's wise to let the crowd get out of control the way that it did. I will never go to that venue again.
Great venue, high prices. Saw Dave Matthews Band, lawn seats were good. Low roof does not give a good view from the lawn. The facilities extend back a good ways, if you are visiting for a musical performer who you don't need to see, the grounds are excellent.
SPAC is always one of the major choices for concerts if you live near Albany or The Berkshires. Acoustics are good, but could be better. They offer way over priced beer and wine inside which is a shame. The bathrooms are usually down right filthy and need MAJOR updating. For that I only give 3 stars. But still fun to go once in awhile. I certainly would pay todays price of tickets and expect to have a blast. They should take some money and update the place.
Awesome venue for whatever group may be on the stage. The nostalgia and history is great. An evening under the starsor inside the amphitheatre is a great experience to be had. Tickets are reasonable with certain events. Others are on the expensive side. I like to go and see the NYC ballet and the Philadelphia orchestra.
Prices on drinks and food are exorbitant, almost criminal. I shaved a star off for this, I debated shaving more. Really, it is a five star venue, but the prices should shift it to two. However, the venue allows blankets and sealed bottled water in the gates.
